We have been super busy these days. Nathan's last day of work was the 23rd and we made it without the baby coming. We had Christmas Eve and went to a friend's house then celebrated Christmas Day by opening our packages on skype, going to fellowship, and having nice steak dinners with friends. The following Monday we had an EEG for Maddy and then Tuesday was an EKG - when we found out that the EEG was void since it turned off after 30 minutes of running. Wednesday I had a doctors appt. at the hospital where we will deliver and then Thursday I had a visit at my foreign clinic. Now that we are full term I must go to both places each week so they can both see how I am progressing. I have started dilating but not far. Friday was our first day with no plans. We enjoyed our day of things being slow and spent the day at home. Saturday we did New Year's Eve with some friends and lots of kiddos. We had taco salad which was so yummy and then did a White Elephant game as well. It is tradition to do White Elephant every year but since so many people were not around this year we were just going to go without until someone asked about it so we combined two parties into one. Sunday we had lunch with friends before the ones left headed off to Philippines and Harbin. We are now in the 2nd week of Nathan's vacation and still enjoying the restful time. The baby has not come yet and we are balancing enjoying the calm and anticipation for her arrival. We are ready for her to come. We even did a pool with our friends to guess the date then they get to find out the name first - after our parents of course :-) We are now 38 weeks and 1 day and just waiting...I feel huge but no discomfort other than the wear and tear of being pregnant.
These days Maddy is growing so much. She is now more interested in playing on her own and interacting with us as she sees fit. It has been so fun watching her grow into a little girl. She loves to pull my shirt up, kiss my belly or blow raspberries on it, and say "baby". She has loved having Daddy take turns with Mommy getting up in the morning. She likes to complain until Daddy puts her in her lap - my little girl doesn't want anything between her and her Daddy. Maddy's newest thing is that she has learned how to open the door. She turns the handles - not knobs - and just goes inside. It is funny when she does it because Mommy let it slip that Daddy was sleeping and she thinks he needs to get up but it is a little different when she decides to open the door on a guest using the bathroom. Now when you come to our home be warned - LOCK THE DOOR! :-)
