Today I went out shopping again and bought a few things for baby. I also go a few things for JB. We first went to the Expo center to find a few things for Amber's little Shui. Earlier this week Amber and I went to the maternity/baby store called, Fruite Shop, (that is the name on the door in English- They have cheaper imported baby stuff (this is where I got my stroller) but their maternity clothes are equivalent to $100 per shirt or $60 per jeans...too much for my taste!) and bought a bouncer for our baby that Amber is using for Shui in the meantime. He has been rumored to love it very much! Amber wanted to buy baby clothes for Shui and since our little JB will be 1 on March 4th I wanted to buy a cute baby outfit for him too. So, off we go with Christa, the experienced China dweller (has lived here 12 years). So my one outfit for JB's birthday turned into 3 and I found it totally ok because of 2 reasons 1.) His onesies are all almost too small so I had to buy him another one of those. 2.) All three little outfits cost me less than $15.
They are a little big but he will grow into them. Then we bought a nursing pillow that Shui is using right now to prop him up as he sleeps. And then when we headed to the baby store (Fruite Shop) I got a bath tub for baby. Now, we are in the process of not knowing if our baby is a boy or girl and not knowing if we are going to move or not so decorating has been put on hold. Therefore, I have held off on buying a baby bathtub in the event that we will have a bathtub in our new apartment (if we move). However, today we saw the bathtubs and they were 50 kuai (Chinese money) for a tub (which was super huge) and then 55 kuai for the seat to keep baby from slipping. With this already in my head we headed to the maternity store where we found a baby tub of sorts that was on sale for 108 kuai. Yes, this is more expensive but it is really cool and is only $15:
This way I can use a shower or a bath tub and the baby can sit in this position or reclined back further. I am excited to use it on JB as soon as possible. Which will have to wait till tomorrow evening or the next morning because I came home today to find the guys finally came to fix our leak. They fixed it and after taking down cabinets, drilling holes into cabinet space, and removing the ceiling it looks like we can return to normal after 24 hours of no water :-( The good thing is they have been super nice and double checking that anything they do won't be too loud or too much of an inconvenience for JB.
Speaking of JB, here are some new cute pictures:
Nathan and JB napping together.
This is JB after I gave him a sponge bath the other day. He just looked too cute!
JB in his walker. Now I know there are hazards with this but JB doesn't use it to help him walk it helps him sit up and we take him for strolls around the room.
So I know I am super pathetic with these pictures but it is a way for me to share what I love about this little guy and the process with our little baby. I hope I am just as pathetic with ours. We just started our two week break for Chinese New Year and JB is with us for the first week. He slept through the night on Saturday, woke up at 4:45 am on Sunday morning (probably because he was a little cold) and woke up at 6 am today with a wet diaper, went back to sleep after I changed him and then slept till 8 am. He's doing pretty well so far. Last night he went 4+ hours without food watching me do my Yoga. It was pretty interesting to see him so content.
