So on Mother's Day Nathan gave me tickets for us to go see "Wicked" on my birthday. So while we were in Maryland we took the day, Grandmom watched the kids and we headed to NYC. My vocal teacher introduced me to "Wicked" during my second year of lessons. I fell in love with it immediately. I read the book and was completely disappointed and disgusted :-( To all those out there that have children who enjoy "Wicked", please don't let them read the book that it is VERY loosely based on. We stopped at a rest area with restaurants on the way and had Burger King for lunch. Then we parked and headed to the subway. We stopped at Times Square and walked the rest of the way. My feet were so sore from my dress shoes that we also stopped at Aeropostale and bought some flip flops. When we arrived I was a giddy school girl! I know it's ridiculous, but though I was a vocal major, this was my first Broadway musical. My hubby really scored by giving me my first broadway experience being my favorite musical on my birthday. We had dinner with one of Nathan's friends at a small deli just across the way from Radio City, where Hugh Jackman was hosting the Tonys. We headed back to Maryland, after getting turned around a bit finding our car, and then headed back home.
