I have been so baffled the last few days as I realize that I am the mother of a 3 and 1 1/2 year old. How did this happen? That's what I keep asking myself. Every time Maddy talks to me I have a flash back to that little peanut born in April 2010 and I cannot get over how much she has grown. She talks our ears off all the time! Emma and Maddy started sleeping in the same room together last week and this week Emma has discovered how to move her mattress in the pack-n-play and I have found her sleeping under it or in the mesh underneath it. So tonight Emma is in a big girl bed. As we tucked them in and said goodnights, I was just awestruck that I have two little girls that are no longer babies. I have two very independent children and I see that enjoyable baby/pre-school stage just slipping through my fingers. Oh my! Well, on a happier note, before I begin to cry thinking about it (like I did reading " Love You Forever" by Robert N. Munsch today), I will give you some fun stats on the girls.
Maddy: 3 years old (Technically 3 1/4)
26.8 lbs and 35 inches
Loves: talk, sing, dance, giggle, pick on Emma, eat sweets, get wet, use the big girl potty, watching "Shaun the Sheep" or "Wallace and Gromit", hitting people (working on that)
Dislikes: being told to eat more food, having her routine adjusted without previous notice
Big Accomplishments: Potty training herself through the night (still wear a diaper at nap), starting "school" over the summer (she will still be at home with me in the fall), being able to help out with task around the house by me simply asking her, seizure free for 3 months
Emma-Mae: 18 months
20.72 lbs and 29.5 inches
Likes: eating, copying Maddy, talking, reading books, her Daddy, Clyde (our dog), making messes with her cups, playing hard to get
Dislikes: telling her to go to her room, being told "no",
Big Accomplishments: Words (no, mama, mommy, dada, daddy, oodie (dog), elephant, moo cow, quack, don't touch, eat, pray, amen, milk, more, all done, more please, elmo, Maddy, Emma, book), 20 teeth, sleeping in big girl bed, sleeping in a room with her sister
And let's be honest, the two of them together are just hilarious. They love being together! I love being their mommy!
