Last I wrote it was a Sunday so to continue---
Sunday took mom and dad to a market - kind of like a huge many building flea market - and got a China flag for my brother. Fellowship and then Indian. I have learned that my mom is not a fan of rice so that limits things a bit :-)
Monday - We left for Beijing. We took the fast train, 4 hours. We arrived around dinner, jumped on the subway, also my parents first time, and headed to Peter's Tex Mex restaurant for some good Western food. Mom was also excited to find sweet tea!
Tuesday - Got up early and went to the Great Wall. WE didn't stay long. Dad and Nate went down the tobboggin slide and mom and I road the chair lift with Maddy. Then we went to a Peking Duck restaurant for lunch. We all had duck for the first time. After this we split up cause Nate had to go to the Indian consulate place for a friend so he did that and we went to a park that overlooked the whole Forbidden City then to Tiananmen. After a series of events we didn't end up going to the Temple of Heaven but headed to Grandma's Kitchen for some good southern food. They didn't have sweet tea but they had Dr. Pepper. Then we headed to the train station and waited for our train. We hopped on the night train, got in our rooms, closed the door, put Maddy on the carpet between us and each grabbed a bed and was out. We woke up around 6:15 close to Shenyang.
Wednesday - This is Mom and Dad's last day. We came home and napped to regain strength from the long walk from yesterday. We ordered calzones/pizza for dinner from NYPD and watched a movie.
Mom and Dad leave in the morning. I take them to the airport around 6 in the morning. We are sad they are leaving but very grateful for the time they had here and the fact that we will be heading to the states in less than a week. YAY!
