Blue Hawaii 2011

Since our first year there has been a couple who has hosted a party called the Blue Hawaii party every year. We get together, make "grass" skirts out of newspaper, do the limbo, hula, make pineapple sandwiches (actually very yummy!), and watch a movie with a Hawaiian theme.

Our first year I won the hula game by using a hula hoop around my neck the longest, a trick my Grandpa Pressley taught me. We then watched "Blue Hawaii" - an Elvis classic!

Last year I didn't do any of the games since I was very pregnant but I held the limbo stick :-) and we watched a Hawaii 5-0 episode about this spirit that haunted this man but was really his son and his wife trying to make the man think he was insane so they could take his inheritance.

This year Lauren won the limbo (yet again! - she is so limber!) and we watched another Hawaii 5-0 called the "Beautiful Screamer".

Our party has come a long way. This year we made skirts for Jachin and Maddy, which didn't last long.
