Maddy & Emma's first year

I thought it would be really fun to pull out the old journals and track what Maddy was doing month by month and parallel it to Emma's.  Here we go:

Birth:
Maddy - 5.5 lbs., 18 inches
Emma - 7.26 lbs., 18.8 inches

Month 1:
Maddy - 7.9 lbs., 20.9 inches, Got a passport, Skype with grandparents
Emma - 8.8 lbs., 21.3 inches, Got a passport, Skype with grandparents, Professional photos

Month 2:
Maddy - 8 lbs. 11 oz., Used a pacifier, Great Wall, Found her thumb, Lifting her head,  First train ride, Sleeping through the night, First bottle, Moved to 3rd apartment in China, First plane ride (international), Met Forrest family, First ride in car seat, Holding things, Met Grandmom and Poppop
Emma - 9.46 lbs., 22 inches, Used pacifier & bottle, Sleeping through the night

Month 3:
Maddy - Visit beach, Giggles, Babble, Hold up her head, smiling, Met Pressley family, Tracking movement, Finding her hands, Standing with support, Rolled on her right side, "Swim" in pool, Road trip to Canada, Saying "Oh", yelling
Emma - Starting to unswaddle

Month 4:
Maddy - 10 lbs. 13 oz., 22 inches, Sitting in Bumbo, Trying to talk, Found her feet, Moved to sleeping sack from swaddler, Pull herself up on her tummy and arches to 90 degrees, Rolling over front to back, Pushing up on bathtub seat
Emma - Trying to sit up, Grabbing toys, Making raspberry noises, Learning to grip and pull things to herself

Month 5:
Maddy - Sucking her thumb, trying to say "mama", Wanting to sit up, Making raspberries, First solid
Emma - 12.12 lbs., Trying to roll over, sitting up alone, holding things, rolling on side, putting things in her mouth, discovered hands and feet, Visited Dandong near North Korea boarder, Met Forrest family

Month 6:
Maddy - 14.3 lbs. , 25 inches, Eating Sweet Potatoes, bananas, peaches and bread , Sitting up on her own, Responding to her name, Eating 2 meals a day
Emma - Rolled from back to front, First plane ride (International), First time in a swimming pool, Eating rice cereal, Visited Disney World, Met Pressley family

Month 7:
Maddy - Met Jachin, Eating pairs, pumpkin and carrots, Splashing in the tub, 3 solid food meals, 1st tooth, Using sippy cup
Emma - Eating sweet potatoes, squash, oatmeal, carrots and peas , Met Grandmom and Poppop, Rolling and scooting backward, 1st and 2nd teeth

Month 8:
Maddy - Eating green beans, mashed potatoes, winter squash, oatmeal and puffs,  2nd tooth
Emma - Eating bananas, pairs, chicken, turkey, apples, peaches and barley, Flipping from sitting to tummy, army crawling, trying to pull up on steps

Month 9:
Maddy - 17.4 lbs, Eating yogurt, papaya, broccoli, and cheese, Scoot backwards, Says "dada" and "mama"
Emma - Eating wheat cereal, broccoli, potatoes, egg yolk and ham, Eating three meals a day, Drinking juice, Eating finger foods, Pulling up, says "mama", 3rd and 4th teeth, Crawling

Month 10:
Maddy - Eating egg yolk and apple cereal,  Scooting by rocking, Flip from bottom to belly, Pulling up, Getting on knees, Waving and clapping, 3rd tooth
Emma - Eating pasta and plums, 5th and 6th teeth, Clapping her hands

Month 11:
Maddy - Eating by herself, Using people to stand up, Started juice, Cruising, 4th tooth, Enjoying her tummy time, 5th-7th teeth, Scooting in circles, Eating chicken
Emma - Tried to crawl down steps, Eating grapes, Demanding finger foods

Month 12:
Maddy - Eating egg plant, strawberries, mango, millet and pasta, Professional pics done
Emma - Eating blueberries and cheese, Trying to stand

1 year:
Maddy - 18 lbs., 27.2 inches, Eating cake, peanut butter, oranges, pizza, grits, blueberries, ice cream, Sticking out tongue,  Drinking whole milk from cup, Standing without support, Crawling (4/30), Took 1 or 2 steps alone (6/2), Molars coming in (6/11), Skin reaction to cinnamon (7/3), Walking alone (7/12), Winking and clapping, Blowing kisses (7/17)
Emma - Scooting backwards and trying to go down the steps, Climbing steps, 7th tooth, Drinking whole milk, 1 year molars in (1/24), Standing on her own (2/1), Saying "ball" (2/1), Took a few uncertain steps (2/13), Walking/Toddling (3/8), Saying "no, no" "night, night" "thank you"and puckers her lips when you ask her for a kiss (3/8), Saying "Amen" (3/15)
