We moved in to our first new home on Saturday. It was chaotic! Friends from Greenville unloaded the 27ft. truck my dad was able to rent for us and once all the items were in they were gone. We were left in our home with my family and tons and tons of boxes. The real fun began! We are making progress on unpacking and luckily only have a handful of boxes left but it's killing me to not be finished. I know it is unrealistic to think that we'd be done by now (only 1 week later) but having all the boxes everywhere is driving me crazy. We closed on our home on Thursday and by the time we unlocked the door we already had a problem. The AC broke! It was 80-90 degrees in the house in the evening. Luckily, we were able to stay the night with some friends (The Thompsons) so the kids didn't have to endure the whole thing. I was so disappointed. This is our new home! We are supposed to be doing happy dances as we stay the night on the floor in our new place. We're supposed to be super excited. We're not supposed to be sleeping at another place because our AC broke our first day in the house. Urg! Nathan was on the phone with different people some saying we would have to pay and some saying we wouldn't. We couldn't find the papers for the warranty. I was devastated. We were having tons of people help us move in on Saturday into our new place and they were going to leave a super hot outside and come into a super hot inside. Nate kept trying to remind me that we need to be flexible but I didn't want to be. Then I read this:
This is the blog of one of my friends in China. I read this and cried. Lea, thanks for the reminder that there are people who have so much less than me. I am getting irritated about my AC not working in my new home and Tong Wei had no one to love him. Tong Wei is now gone and that is real lose!
Thanks, Lea!
