Letting Go
The doctors came by yesterday and basically said that mom's brainstem seems to be slowly dying. They said that in many instances damage can occur to the outer part of the brain with no real damage but if damage occurs to the brainstem then someone can basically be legally dying without their heart and other vitals showing signs. Mom is still making some signs and responses but they are deteriorating. He thinks that her brainstem has been compromised and that there is nothing more to do. Since yesterday we have begun the process of letting go and saying goodbye. It was hard news to take and it's been harder just processing through life without mom. Thanks for your many prayers and words of encouragement. I know that mom is in a better place but it's hard to think about her not being here with us. We love mom so much and know that without her life will be missing something. Please keep us in your thoughts this holiday season as we try to unite as a family and mourn the lose of someone we all love very much. She's in better hands now!
