I knew that Jon & Heather (brother & sister-in-law) were heading up north to visit her family on their vacation from Texas and I was kind of jealous. I regret that we don't see Nathan's grandparents very often so this jealousy mixed with the realization that I don't have much keeping me from actually going started a plan to head to Maryland for a trip. I am so grateful for my father-in-law who volunteered to go with us so that this 6 months pregnant lady wasn't driving alone. I learned a very valuable lesson on my trip: Maddy doesn't sleep in the car! We drove at night hoping the girls would sleep in the car. Emma did but Maddy only slept for 2 hours. Luckily, we got some sleep when we arrived (4 am - 8 am). I loved being able to let the girls see their great grandparents, visiting family and having so many people who were willing to pitch in so I could get extra sleep and sit a little more often. Thanks!
Snuggles with Poppop Jim and exploring the yard.
Snuggles with Grandmom too!
We also got to see a football game for one of Nathan's cousins, and he scored a touch down. Go DJ!
Emma will sleep in the car at any point in time so I was grateful to catch this picture of her napping in the back seat. At least someone slept on our 9 hour one way trip :-)
