36 weeks and counting...

We were worried but we made it :-) I have now been pregnant now longer than with Madeline. I may actually get to have a full term baby, how exciting. i find it so funny to read my friends' blogs and facebook statuses about being in the 37-40 week time and how miserable it is (Actually the more I get there the more I do understand as I feel I can't grow any bigger without popping!) and I think how I just want to make it to the 37 week mark so I have some assurance that the baby is healthy. Maddy, thanks be to God, was born healthy and with no problems but there is still that doubt and question. With gestational diabetes I know that I will not carry past 40 weeks because they will induce at that point but I long for the assurance of full term. We are just days away - 4 to be exact! The hospital package is booked for us to have a suit (visiting room with bed for me and king size bed for Nate), Maddy's plans are made, bags are packed (for me and baby), emergency money collected, checklist for Maddy is done and now I'm in the weird stage of waiting. I've never had this before and it feels quite odd. Oh well, Nate is now home for break for 5 weeks and I am so grateful that our Father has orchestrated all so that we have time to rest as a family for a bit before baby's arrival.

Update on Maddy - Maddy will be going for an EEG on Monday morning (yes, after Christmas!) and then we go on Tuesday morning to get that removed and then an EKG strapped on. We then come back on Wednesday to get that removed. This means two nights of Maddy sleeping with us so she doesn't take the stuff off. So two nights of bad sleep for family and then trying to get these contraptions removed from my child without leaving welts and screaming. However, we hope that we will get some information from the tests. Maddy is still doing very well and has had no other issues. One of our Chinese friends bought this child's ear thermometer for Maddy and she loves it. A bunny shows up in the bottom whenever it's ready to test and Maddy thinks it's a cell phone. This makes life so much easier. We just ask that the tests go well, the two days run as smooth as possible and that baby #2 will at least wait till Wed. to start coming :-)
